Hand Over Hammer is a folk/Americana duo built on harmony, heart, and the art of storytelling. Made up of Toby and Jim — two multi-instrumentalists who’ve spent years living and breathing music.

Both had stepped back from the band circuit but never from music itself. Toby carried his passion into teaching, sharing the gift of music with kids of all abilities, while Jim poured his energy into guitar, voice, and songwriting. When they joined forces in 2022, something clicked: songs that spoke to both the grit and the beauty of everyday life began to flow.
